Sanofi launches innovation and operations centre in China
French pharmaceutical company Sanofi has announced the opening of a new innovation and operations centre in southwestern China, marking a strategic step in its global expansion and research capabilities.
The facility, located in Chengdu, is designed to strengthen the company’s activities across multiple areas, including research and development, clinical operations, manufacturing, and supply chain management.
According to the company, the new centre will serve as a regional hub aimed at enhancing efficiency and accelerating the delivery of healthcare solutions. It also reflects Sanofi’s commitment to expanding its presence in one of the world’s fastest-growing pharmaceutical markets.
China has become a key destination for global healthcare investment, driven by increasing demand for innovative treatments and a rapidly evolving medical infrastructure. By establishing this centre, Sanofi seeks to deepen collaboration, improve operational performance, and support the development of new therapies.
Industry observers note that such investments highlight the growing importance of Asia in the global pharmaceutical landscape, as companies continue to diversify operations and strengthen resilience in their supply chains.
