Samsung prepares to launch the Galaxy Z Flip8 foldable smartphone

Samsung is reportedly preparing to unveil its next-generation foldable smartphone, the Galaxy Z Flip8, introducing several hardware upgrades and enhanced features aimed at strengthening its position in the premium foldable device market.

According to industry reports and recent leaks, the upcoming smartphone is expected to feature a lightweight design weighing approximately 180 grams. The device is also said to offer improved durability with an aluminum frame, Gorilla Glass Victus 2 protection, and an IP48 rating for resistance to dust and water.

The Galaxy Z Flip8 is expected to include a 6.9-inch Foldable Dynamic LTPO AMOLED 2X main display with a 120 Hz refresh rate, delivering smoother animations and improved responsiveness. A larger external Super AMOLED cover screen measuring around 4.1 inches is also expected, allowing users to access notifications, widgets, and essential applications without unfolding the phone.

The smartphone is rumored to run Android 16 with Samsung's One UI 8.5 interface and could be powered by the new Exynos 2600 processor, reportedly manufactured using a 2-nanometer process. The chipset is expected to deliver higher performance while improving power efficiency for everyday use and demanding applications.

Photography capabilities are also set to receive upgrades. Reports suggest the Galaxy Z Flip8 will feature a dual rear camera system consisting of a 50-megapixel primary sensor and a 12-megapixel ultra-wide lens capable of recording 4K video at up to 60 frames per second. A 10-megapixel front-facing camera is expected to handle selfies and video calls.

Additional features are likely to include 12 GB of RAM, storage options of 256 GB and 512 GB, USB Type-C connectivity, NFC support, satellite navigation services, a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, and wireless charging. The device is also expected to house a 4,300 mAh battery supporting both fast wired and wireless charging.

Samsung continues to invest heavily in foldable smartphone technology as competition in the segment intensifies. The Galaxy Z Flip8 is expected to build on the success of previous models by offering a more refined design, improved performance, and enhanced durability for consumers seeking a compact yet powerful flagship smartphone.
