WeCasablanca Festival: Moroccan Music Draws Nearly 22,000 Spectators
Nearly 22,000 spectators attended the latest edition of the WeCasablanca Festival, held from October 29 to 31, 2026, at Place Rachidi in Casablanca. Organized by Casablanca Events & Animation as part of the Unity Festival celebrations, the event featured three evenings of free concerts celebrating the diversity of the Moroccan music scene.
Over three days, Place Rachidi transformed into an open-air stage, bringing together locals, families, youth, and visitors around six artists. This turnout confirms the interest of the Casablanca public in accessible cultural events organized in the heart of the urban space.
Three Evenings to Explore Moroccan Musical Diversity
The program highlighted various musical universes, blending traditional sounds with contemporary expressions.
On Thursday, October 29, Ribab Fusion opened the festival with Amazigh sounds, before handing the stage to Fehd Benchemsi & The Lalla, whose universe is inspired by Gnaoua rhythms and influences. This first evening placed the dialogue between musical heritage and contemporary creation at the heart of the event.
On Friday, October 30, Hamza Senhaji and Statia took over with a repertoire rooted in Moroccan popular music. Their performances illustrated how these musical expressions can bring together spectators from different generations and backgrounds.
The closing evening, on Saturday, October 31, showcased urban and pop sounds with Salim Cravata, followed by Rym Fikri. This final evening highlighted contemporary musical forms that contribute to renewing the Moroccan scene and reaching a diverse audience.
Free Access to Culture
Beyond the artistic performances, the WeCasablanca Festival focused on the opening of public space and the accessibility of the program. The free concerts and the central location of Place Rachidi allowed for a broader audience than usual for performance venues.
Families, youth, and visitors thus shared a common cultural appointment in the heart of the metropolis. This format aligns with an approach that makes culture a space for meeting and conviviality, in line with the spirit of gathering associated with the Unity Festival.
According to Mohamed Jouahri, General Director of Casablanca Events & Animation, the mobilization of the public around Moroccan artists illustrates the importance of culture as a unifying factor. The organizer aims to contribute to making Casablanca a space for cultural animation accessible to all generations.
Casablanca Confirms Its Cultural Ambition
With nearly 22,000 spectators over three evenings, the WeCasablanca Festival confirms the capacity of free outdoor events to mobilize the public around national artistic creation.
By utilizing Place Rachidi with a program that brings together several musical currents, Casablanca Events & Animation continues its commitment to cultural animation in the city and the promotion of Moroccan artists. The event also illustrates the role of public spaces in disseminating culture and creating moments of sharing at the urban scale.
