Morocco’s automobile exports rise 19.1% in January 2026

Morocco’s automobile sector recorded exports worth over 12.24 billion dirhams (MMDH) in January 2026, marking a 19.1% increase compared to the same period in 2025, according to the Foreign Exchange Office.

This growth was driven by strong sales in the “Construction” segment, which surged 60.6% to nearly 4.37 MMDH, and the “Wiring” segment, which rose 9.6% to 4.96 MMDH.

The aerospace industry also posted higher exports, up 8.7% to more than 2.43 MMDH, fueled by a 17.2% increase in the “Assembly” segment, despite a 5.9% decline in the Electrical Wiring Interconnection System (EWIS) category.

Conversely, the Foreign Exchange Office reported decreases in exports for other sectors: “Phosphates and Derivatives” fell 43.4%, “Agriculture and Agrifood” declined 9.5%, “Textiles and Leather” dropped 5.9%, and “Electronics and Electricity” fell 3.8%.

Overall, total exports in January reached 34.5 MMDH, representing a 2.7% decrease compared to the same month last year, highlighting a mixed performance across Morocco’s key export industries.
