Morocco weather: temperatures to range from 18°C to 38°C on Monday

Temperatures across Morocco are expected to vary significantly on Monday, September 28, with relatively cool conditions in the country's mountainous areas contrasting with much warmer weather in several southern provinces.

Forecast data from Morocco's General Directorate of Meteorology show that minimum temperatures will generally remain between 14°C and 25°C, while maximum readings are expected to range from 18°C to 38°C depending on the region.

Wide temperature contrasts across the country

The coolest morning conditions are forecast in Ifrane, where temperatures could fall to 14°C before reaching a maximum of 18°C. Khouribga is also expected to remain relatively cool, with temperatures ranging from 16°C to 22°C.

In the northern part of the country, Oujda is forecast to record between 17°C and 27°C, while Bouarfa could see temperatures rise from 19°C to 29°C. Along the Mediterranean coast, Al Hoceïma is expected to remain between 20°C and 21°C, while Tétouan should range from 21°C to 23°C.

Tanger is forecast to experience milder conditions, with a minimum of 22°C and a maximum of 27°C. Sebta and Mellilia are expected to remain cooler during the day, with maximum temperatures of 21°C and 23°C respectively.

Atlantic cities remain moderate

The Atlantic coastline is expected to see generally moderate temperatures.

Kénitra and Rabat are both forecast to reach 27°C, with minimum temperatures of 20°C and 19°C respectively. Casablanca should record 19°C at its lowest and 28°C at its peak.

Further south along the Atlantic coast, El Jadida could reach 31°C, making it one of the warmer coastal locations in Monday's forecast. Safi is expected to range between 19°C and 27°C, while Essaouira should see temperatures between 18°C and 26°C.

Settat is forecast to remain between 19°C and 26°C.

Inland regions face warmer afternoon conditions

Temperatures are also expected to rise across several inland areas.

Marrakech is forecast to reach 28°C after a minimum of 20°C, while Béni Mellal should range from 20°C to 25°C. Meknès is expected to remain cooler, with temperatures between 19°C and 22°C, while Fès could record 20°C to 23°C.

Taounate is forecast to reach 24°C, compared with a minimum of 21°C. Midelt should see temperatures between 18°C and 24°C.

In the eastern and southeastern parts of the country, Errachidia is expected to range from 23°C to 29°C. Ouarzazate should record between 19°C and 24°C.

Southern provinces record the highest temperatures

The strongest heat is expected in parts of southern Morocco, particularly inland.

Smara and Dakhla are both forecast to reach 31°C, although their minimum temperatures are expected to remain at 22°C and 19°C respectively. Laâyoune should see temperatures between 20°C and 25°C, while Lagouira is expected to range from 22°C to 25°C.

The highest temperature in Monday's national forecast is expected in Aousserd, where the thermometer could climb to 38°C after a minimum of 25°C.

Agadir, by contrast, is forecast to remain considerably milder, with temperatures ranging from 20°C to 23°C.

A day marked by strong regional differences

Monday's forecast highlights the considerable temperature differences that can occur across Morocco within the same day. Mountain areas such as Ifrane are expected to experience distinctly cooler conditions, while parts of the southern interior could approach or exceed 30°C.

The contrast is particularly visible between Ifrane, with a projected maximum of 18°C, and Aousserd, where temperatures could reach 38°C.

With conditions varying sharply between coastal, mountainous, inland and southern areas, local forecasts remain important for residents and travelers planning activities across the country on Monday.
