Morocco strengthens cannabis industry ties with B2B mission to Amsterdam

The Moroccan National Agency for the Regulation of Cannabis Activities (ANRAC) will lead a delegation of more than twenty companies to Amsterdam to strengthen ties with the Dutch cannabis market.

The Moroccan cannabis industry will be showcased at the Park Centraal Amsterdam hotel during a professional meeting organized by ANRAC. Over twenty Moroccan companies specializing in cannabis production and commercialization are participating in the event, highlighting their expertise and promoting business exchanges.

The mission is led by ANRAC’s Director-General, Mohamed El Guerrouj. Organizers say the initiative aims to establish direct contacts with Dutch and European market players, share knowledge, and explore cooperation opportunities. The program includes company presentations, discussions on potential collaborations, and meetings to consolidate trade relations between Morocco and the Netherlands.

Dutch professionals—including companies, investors, and other sector operators—will have the opportunity to register for one-on-one interviews with Moroccan representatives. Organizers emphasize the mutually beneficial nature of these exchanges, designed as a platform to boost bilateral trade flows in the cannabis sector.

This mission comes amid a critical moment in the Netherlands, as the temporary tolerance period for illegal hashish under the cannabis pilot experiment ends on September 1, 2025. The pilot aims to regulate production and distribution while reducing illicit channels.

For Moroccan actors, this B2B mission represents both a showcase and a business opportunity. It allows the legal Moroccan cannabis sector, regulated by ANRAC since its creation, to engage in the international market and strengthen export opportunities while highlighting high-quality production standards.

This international initiative aligns with broader efforts to structure Morocco’s legal cannabis sector. The latest agricultural campaign recorded significant growth, with over 1,000 hectares authorized for imported, controlled, and approved seeds, benefiting more than 1,400 farmers. Additionally, over 4,200 hectares of local “Beldia” variety cannabis were authorized, supporting traditional production chains within the new legal framework.
