Morocco's AFCON 2023 Squad Announcement: Unveiling the Lions of Atlas

National team coach Walid Regragui is poised to reveal the roster of warriors who will proudly represent the Atlas Lions at the upcoming AFCON 2023 competition. In a highly anticipated press conference scheduled for this Thursday, Regragui will announce the final list of players selected to defend Morocco's colors on African soil.

With less than a month remaining until the tournament kickoff, excitement is mounting as the nation eagerly awaits to discover which heroes will answer the call. Regragui had previously submitted a provisional list of 55 players, currently under assessment for their potential contributions. The majority of veterans from Morocco's historic World Cup semi-final run last year are expected to reprise their roles.

However, the spotlight is also on several promising newcomers who have earned consideration through stellar club performances. The likes of attacking midfielder Ismael Saibari, winger Sofiane Diop, and forward Amine Adli are among the fresh faces hoping for a breakthrough opportunity. Their talents will be put to the test against Africa's finest, should they secure a spot in the final squad.

This Thursday marks the day when Moroccan football fans will finally get the answers they've been craving. Regragui's press conference unveiling is scheduled for 11:00 hours at the Mohammed VI Football Complex in Maamora. Subsequently, preparations for glory will officially commence on January 2nd with the team's first training camp on home soil.

The group stage matches against Tanzania, DR Congo, and Zambia await the selected representatives in the tournament proper, kicking off on January 13th. The entire nation stands behind Les Lions de l'Atlas as they aim to roar the loudest and bring pride to the country on sport's grandest African stage. All eyes are turned to Thursday for the big reveal of Morocco's AFCON destiny.
