Moroccan economy expected to grow by 4.4% in 2025

Morocco’s national economy is projected to maintain solid growth with a forecast of 4.4% in 2025 and 4% in 2026, according to the High Commission for Planning (HCP). This outlook is driven by improvements in agriculture and steady non-agricultural performance, supported by strong domestic demand.

In value terms, GDP growth is expected to decline slightly from 6.4% in 2025 to 5.6% in 2026, with inflation moderating to 1.5% in 2026, down from 1.9% in 2025.

The agricultural sector is set to recover with a 4.7% increase in 2025 after a 4.8% drop in 2024, and is forecasted to rise by 3.3% in 2026, supported by stable cereal production and improvements in livestock.

Overall, the primary sector should expand by 4.6% in 2025 and 3.2% in 2026, also benefiting from the positive outlook in fishing and aquaculture.

Non-agricultural activities are forecasted to grow by 4.3% in 2025 and 4% in 2026, driven by robust performance in industry, construction, and services, with key contributions from chemical industries, agri-food, mining, and textiles.

The construction sector (BTP) is expected to gain momentum from large infrastructure projects related to the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations and the 2030 World Cup, with projected growth of 4.9% in 2025.

The services sector, representing the largest share of the economy, is expected to continue expanding, contributing 2.3 percentage points to overall growth in 2025.
