The diplomatic bonds between Iraq and Morocco reached new heights as Iraq's National Security Advisor Qasim Al-Araji expressed firm support for Morocco's territorial integrity, including the Sahara region, during high-level talks in Rabat on Monday.

During a joint press conference with Morocco's Foreign Affairs Minister Nasser Bourita, Al-Araji emphasized Iraq's steadfast position. "Iraq's position is steadfast in its full support for Morocco's territorial unity regarding the Sahara issue," he declared, underscoring the deep-rooted relationship between the two nations, which he characterized as both historic and strategic.

The meeting highlighted the enduring connection between the two countries, with Minister Bourita noting Iraq's special place in Morocco's diplomatic history as the first Arab nation to acknowledge Morocco's independence in 1956. Bourita expressed appreciation for Iraq's continued support of Morocco's stability and prosperity.

Looking ahead, the discussion turned to the upcoming Arab League summit in Iraq. Bourita voiced Morocco's support for the summit preparations, emphasizing its significance: "The Baghdad summit will be a key milestone in addressing the transformations in the Arab world."

This diplomatic exchange reinforces the longstanding partnership between Iraq and Morocco, demonstrating their mutual commitment to regional stability and bilateral cooperation.
