Gruesome discovery in northern France: Man found disemboweled in crucifix position
A 32-year-old man was found dead, with his throat slashed and abdomen disemboweled. His body was deliberately arranged in the shape of a cross, according to police sources. The disturbing scene was discovered early in the morning by a passerby in a public sports area.
The victim also suffered multiple knife wounds to the neck and back. The area, which includes tennis courts and walking trails, was cordoned off by police. Officers were seen inspecting a nearby wooded path closed to vehicles.
Pont-de-Metz mayor Loïc Bulant told the press that the body was “positioned in a crucifix-like manner.” He described the scene as something out of a "gore film" and admitted police were deeply affected by the brutality. “The victim was from Amiens,” he added.
The park where the incident occurred is normally considered peaceful and family-friendly. “This is a place where children play, families picnic... We’ve never had problems here,” said Bulant.
Florian Hollemaert, a local who used to visit the park with his son, expressed his shock: “We won’t come here anymore. It’s too disturbing.”
Authorities have launched an investigation, but no motive or suspect has yet been publicly identified.
