Casablanca–Los Angeles: Royal Air Maroc launches first direct flight
Royal Air Maroc has officially launched its first direct air route between Casablanca and Los Angeles, marking a major milestone in air connectivity between Africa and the west coast of the United States.
The inaugural flight departed from Mohammed V International Airport in Casablanca at 04:00 local time, establishing a non-stop connection to Los Angeles with an approximate flight duration of 12 hours. This new route strengthens Casablanca’s position as a strategic aviation hub linking Africa, Europe, and the Americas.
The service will operate three times per week using long-haul aircraft. Flights from Casablanca are scheduled on Tuesdays, Fridays, and Sundays, while return flights from Los Angeles will depart at 10:20 local time, arriving in Casablanca the following day at 05:25.
According to Royal Air Maroc management, this new route reflects the airline’s ambition to expand its global network and enhance Morocco’s international visibility. The company emphasized that the connection is particularly significant given the growing economic, cultural, and tourism exchanges between Morocco and the United States.
The airline already operates several North American routes, including destinations such as New York, Washington, Miami, Montreal, and Toronto. The launch of the Los Angeles route further extends its transatlantic reach and supports its broader strategy of international expansion.
