Casablanca Embarks on a Sanitary Overhaul: 60 Public Restrooms to Grace the City's Streets

In a move to improve public hygiene and provide essential amenities, the Société de développement local (SDL) Casablanca Baïa has launched a significant project to install 60 public restroom facilities throughout the bustling streets of Casablanca. This initiative, which commenced on Thursday, July 4th, through a public tender valued at 11.52 million dirhams, aims to meet the longstanding demand for accessible and hygienic public conveniences in Morocco's economic capital.

The SDL Casablanca Baïa, responsible for cleanliness, waste management, green space upkeep, and sanitation standards, has invited bids for supplying, installing, and commissioning these 60 public restroom units. The bid opening is scheduled for July 23rd, marking the beginning of a transformative effort for Casablanca's urban landscape.

Upon awarding the contract, the selected bidder will have a maximum of three months to deliver and install the first 30 restroom units, followed by another three months to complete the remaining 30 facilities. Bidders can propose batches of at least 10 units to streamline service provision.

The specific locations for these public restrooms will be determined after the contract is awarded by the project's contracting authority. However, all sites will be within Casablanca commune boundaries, ensuring widespread access for residents and visitors alike.

This ambitious project by the SDL Casablanca Baïa demonstrates the city's commitment to improving residents' quality of life and promoting a cleaner, more hygienic urban environment. By offering well-maintained and easily accessible public restroom facilities, Casablanca aims to establish a new standard for urban sanitation, addressing a critical need while enhancing public health and convenience.
