CAF investigates incidents during 2025 Africa Cup Of Nations Final
Following the conclusion of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) final, in which Senegal defeated Morocco, the Confederation of African Football (CAF) has condemned “unacceptable” behavior by players and officials and announced the launch of an investigation into potential disciplinary actions.
In an official statement released on Monday, January 19, CAF said it “strongly condemns the unacceptable conduct of certain players and officials during the final of the TotalEnergies Africa Cup of Nations Morocco 2025” held at Stade Prince Moulay Abdellah in Rabat.
Emphasizing a zero-tolerance policy toward “any inappropriate behavior occurring during matches, particularly those targeting match officials or organizers,” the continental governing body confirmed it has opened a thorough review process.
“CAF is currently examining all available footage and will refer cases to the competent authorities so that appropriate sanctions can be imposed on individuals found guilty,” the statement concluded.
