Body of man recovered from Frioul Port in Marseille
The body of a man believed to be in his forties was recovered on Sunday afternoon from the port area of the Frioul islands in Marseille, according to local authorities. The discovery was made by the city’s marine firefighters after reports of a body floating in the water.
Emergency services were alerted shortly before 3:00 p.m. Upon arrival, rescuers confirmed the death and were unable to provide assistance. Preliminary information indicates that the man was living on a boat moored in the area, although the exact circumstances surrounding his death remain unclear.
An investigation has been opened and entrusted to the national police in the Bouches-du-Rhône department. Authorities have not yet communicated any details regarding the cause of death, and further examinations are expected to shed light on the incident.
This is not the first such case in the area, as previous years have also seen bodies recovered near the Frioul archipelago, highlighting the need for continued vigilance in maritime zones.
