BCP group outlines pan African digital banking strategy at GITEX Africa 2026

The BCP Group used its participation at GITEX Africa Morocco 2026 in Marrakech to present a structured transformation strategy built around digital banking, artificial intelligence, and financial inclusion across Africa. Over three days, the group brought together executives, subsidiaries, and technology partners to advance a unified model aimed at improving customer experience and expanding access to financial services across the continent.

The strategy is anchored in four pillars that redefine the role of a banking institution. The concept of an “augmented bank” expands beyond traditional financial services toward integrated solutions tailored to client needs. This shift relies on large-scale modernization of information systems and the industrialization of innovation. A central component is the Payment Center for Africa, which supports digital payments across subsidiaries, while a new artificial intelligence platform enables credit scoring, fraud detection, and automated customer interactions at scale.

Technology partnerships form a core part of this transformation. Agreements with Huawei focus on cloud infrastructure and data processing capacity, while collaboration with Microsoft targets automation and generative AI to improve productivity and service quality. A partnership with Mastercard strengthens digital payment capabilities in response to the rapid growth of mobile and contactless transactions. At the same time, rising digital usage has increased exposure to cyber threats, with attempted cyberattacks in Morocco rising from 12 million in 2024 to 46 million in 2025. The group has responded by integrating advanced detection systems and artificial intelligence into its cybersecurity framework.

The expansion of digital banking services reflects a broader ecosystem approach. Consumer platforms such as Pocket Bank have grown from 300,000 users in 2015 to 3.5 million in 2026, with mobile payments now accounting for 85 percent of total transactions. For businesses, dedicated solutions support financial flows, international trade, and intercompany payments. Subsidiaries such as M2T and PCA provide infrastructure that enables fintech collaboration and accelerates service deployment across markets.

Artificial intelligence is also deployed to support financial inclusion. Microfinance initiatives target underserved populations by using alternative data to assess creditworthiness beyond traditional criteria. Entrepreneur support programs integrate AI to refine diagnostics and connect project holders with financing and mentorship. This dual approach combines technological tools with human support to broaden access to financial services.

The group’s African footprint remains central to its strategy. Operating in more than twenty countries, it has built an integrated ecosystem combining banking, fintech, and microfinance. Platforms such as Wizall enable users to enter the financial system through digital payments, while microfinance entities extend access to credit. Payment infrastructure ensures consistency across markets while allowing local adaptation. The strategy also includes partnerships in education, including an initiative with a Moroccan university to facilitate access for sub Saharan students and position Morocco as a regional academic hub.
