Morocco’s postal service and architects have joined forces to transform architectural practices through digital innovation.

Barid Al-Maghrib (Poste du Maroc) and the National Council of the Order of Architects (CNOA) recently signed a pivotal partnership agreement aimed at advancing digitalization in the sector.

Amin Benjelloun Touimi, Director General of the Postal Group, and Chakib Benabdellah, CNOA President, established this framework to enhance digital trust and facilitate architects' access to online services through national digital platforms.

The partnership pledges both organizations to assist architects during their digital transition. This initiative aims to help them comply with regulatory requirements while enhancing operational efficiency, service quality, and the legal validity of their digitized documents.

“This marks a crucial step in our shared mission to support the digital transformation of architectural professions in Morocco,” remarked Benjelloun Touimi at the signing ceremony.

It is anticipated that the agreement will lead to the digitization of over 38 million records dating back to 1915.

“Through this mutual commitment, we reaffirm our ambition to place innovation and digital trust at the heart of our respective services,” he added.

Specifically, Barid Al-Maghrib will offer architects comprehensive digital solutions, including electronic certificates, electronic signatures and stamps, timestamping, electronic paraphernalia, and secure archiving services.

CNOA President Benabdellah highlighted the significance of this initiative for Morocco’s community of 4,000 architects. “This initiative will save time and support the profession’s evolution,” he noted.

The agreement will assist Moroccan architects in legally securing their professional documents, expediting administrative procedures, reducing processing times, streamlining interactions with government agencies and clients, and lowering their environmental impact.

Khalid Yousfi, Commercial and Digital Marketing Director at Barid Al-Maghrib, emphasized that this partnership builds on emerging digital platforms, referencing the public procurement portal and the “Rokhas” (licenses) digital portal as key examples.

The initiative will also emphasize training, raising awareness, and providing architects with optimal access to Barid Al-Maghrib’s digital trust services under favorable operational, technical, and financial conditions.

Modernizing the architectural sector is a vital component of the country’s broader vision for its digital economy, aligning with the Morocco Digital Strategy 2030.
