Arco Group Expands Presence in Morocco with New Subsidiary

In a strategic move to strengthen its footprint in the Moroccan market, the Spanish group Arco Global Tecnología y Desarrollo (Arco Group), a specialist in comprehensive solutions for aggregate plants including machinery, products, and automation, has announced the establishment of a subsidiary in Morocco. This new venture, formed in partnership with Moroccan entrepreneur Mohamed Nizar Zarkik, is a testament to Arco Group's commitment to innovation and growth in the region.

Headquartered in Tetouan, the newly formed subsidiary, Arconor, is a joint venture between Arco Group and Mohamed Nizar Zarkik. Arco Group holds a 70% stake in Arconor, equally divided between its two divisions, Arco Met7 and Arco Electrónica, while Mohamed Nizar Zarkik retains the remaining 30%.

The co-management of Arconor has been entrusted to Sergio Alonzo Aznar, the director of Arco Met7 since 2004 and an administrator at Arco Electrónica since 2005, and Mohamed Nizar Zarkik, who previously worked for Lecamaroc, a Tetouan-based company specializing in the import, sale, assembly, and maintenance of software for concrete equipment.

Arco Met7, a leading player in the precast concrete industry for over 45 years, is renowned for its expertise in manufacturing concrete mixers and blenders. The company has also been active in the mortar sector since the 1980s, designing packaging machines such as bagging and palletizing systems for handling and storing mortar bags.

Complementing Arco Met7's offerings, Arco Electrónica oversees all phases of automation in aggregate and sand plants. This division provides specialized software for aggregate and sand plants, enabling the control and supervision of all plant processes in accordance with Industry 4.0 standards.

The establishment of Arconor in Morocco underscores Arco Group's commitment to expanding its presence in the Moroccan market and developing innovative solutions for aggregate and concrete plants in the region. This new subsidiary will also create employment opportunities and contribute to local economic development.
