RABAT - In a recent press briefing, UN Deputy Secretary-General Amina J. Mohammed lauded Morocco for its exceptional commitment to environmental sustainability and clean energy, positioning the nation as a beacon for other developing countries in the fight against climate change.

During her address in the nation's capital following the inauguration of the Ministerial Segment of the High-Level Conference on Middle-Income Countries, Mohammed highlighted Morocco's remarkable progress in energy transition, particularly in bolstering financing for green initiatives.

"Morocco stands as a paradigm of environmental capital investment, showcasing significant achievements in energy transition," she affirmed.

Mohammed emphasized the importance of replicating Morocco's success story across the African continent, envisioning it as a catalyst for other nations to embrace emerging opportunities and confront development challenges head-on.

She lauded Morocco's economic adaptability and resilience amidst global financial and geopolitical uncertainties while commending its proactive role in fostering partnerships aimed at middle-income country growth.

The High-Level Conference serves as a pivotal platform for these nations to address critical financing issues impeding economic advancement, Mohammed explained, urging middle-income countries to unite their efforts and strengthen collaboration on key development priorities.

"The development needs are vast and pressing," reiterated the Deputy Secretary-General.

Convened under the auspices of Morocco's Foreign Ministry, this landmark conference brings together 32 countries and 23 UN agencies to chart sustainable development solutions.
