Citic Dicastal Expands its Footprint in Morocco with the Inauguration of "Dika Morocco Castings"
In a significant move to meet the rising demand in the electric vehicle battery market, the Moroccan mining group Managem is embarking on a pioneering initiative by considering the construction of a factory in collaboration with the China Electronics Corporation (CEC). This strategic collaboration, forged through Reminex, Managem's subsidiary specializing in engineering and construction, signals a new era in the sector.
The primary objective of this alliance is to share technological expertise, creating an industrial ecosystem that supports the production of essential components for batteries used in electric mobility. This mutual commitment strengthens the ties between Morocco and China in the field of green energy.
The first tangible outcome of this collaboration is the initiation of a major contract, kickstarting the construction of Morocco's first cobalt sulfate production plant. This component plays a crucial role in the manufacturing of batteries for electric vehicles, and its local production signifies a significant step forward in Managem's strategy focusing on critical metals and energy transition.
Cobalt sulfate, as a vital component, plays a pivotal role in the creation of batteries for electric mobility. By engaging in this major project, Managem not only demonstrates its strategic involvement in a rapidly expanding sector but also positions Morocco as a key player in the supply chain for electric vehicle batteries.
This initiative underscores the importance of international cooperation in promoting clean energy and electric mobility. By joining forces, Managem and the China Electronics Corporation pave the way for a fruitful collaboration, contributing to the creation of a more sustainable future for electric vehicles and the associated industry.
