The football federations of Morocco, Spain, and Portugal are taking steps to unify their efforts in organizing the 2030 FIFA World Cup. The Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF) announced on Tuesday the establishment of joint commissions aimed at ensuring seamless collaboration among the three host nations.

This initiative was formalized during a meeting between FRMF President Fouzi Lekjaa and Rafael Louzán, President of the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF), held at the FRMF headquarters in Salé. According to the FRMF’s official statement, these joint commissions will facilitate coordination through alternating meetings across the three organizing countries in the coming days.

During the meeting, Lekjaa emphasized the significance of Louzán’s visit to Morocco, particularly following his recent appointment as head of the Spanish federation. This visit provided an opportunity to review the preparations for the joint World Cup organization. He also highlighted the strong historical and cultural ties between Morocco and Spain, stressing the urgency of accelerating the establishment of these commissions to ensure a successful tournament, building on the momentum of the successful joint bid.

Moreover, Lekjaa underlined the importance of deepening football cooperation between Morocco and Spain, mirroring the robust relations the two nations share in other sectors.

For his part, Louzán expressed admiration for Morocco’s football development, particularly in infrastructure. He noted that these advancements create a solid foundation for fruitful bilateral collaboration in the coming years, aligning with the aspirations of both nations’ football communities. Furthermore, he supported Lekjaa’s vision regarding the urgency of forming joint commissions to expedite the execution of strategic projects ahead of the 2030 tournament.
