In a collaborative endeavor to propel agricultural education into the digital age, OCP Africa, a subsidiary of the renowned Moroccan phosphate enterprise OCP Group, has unveiled plans for the imminent inauguration of the Digital Farming School (DFS) in Yamoussoukro, Côte d'Ivoire. Scheduled to commence operations in September 2024, this pioneering initiative aims to empower the next generation of agricultural professionals in the region and beyond.

The DFS represents a synergistic partnership between OCP Africa, Mohammed VI Polytechnic University (UM6P), Institut National Polytechnique Félix Houphouët-Boigny (INP-HB), and Leet Initiative, united by a shared vision of fostering innovation in agricultural education. As construction progresses, Mohamed Anouar Jamali, the Chief Executive Officer of OCP Africa, recently conducted a site visit to assess the project's development and ensure adherence to the highest international standards. Accompanying Jamali was Diaby Moussa A. Kader, the Director General of INP-HB, a crucial collaborator in this endeavor.

Poised to offer a cutting-edge learning environment, the DFS will be equipped with state-of-the-art technology to support students' professional growth and skill development. The educational program has been meticulously designed to be innovative and comprehensive, with a strong emphasis on Agri-Tech. Jamali and Kader thoroughly examined the program's design, ensuring its alignment with the goal of harnessing and enhancing the potential of young Ivorians, preparing them to become pioneers in the agricultural technology sector.

This initiative resonates with OCP Africa's broader mission across the continent, which is focused on enhancing agricultural productivity, supporting farmers, and addressing food security challenges. By providing access to quality fertilizers, promoting sustainable farming practices, and investing in educational and training programs, OCP Africa plays a pivotal role in driving agricultural development and ensuring food security throughout Africa.

Notably, the DFS will mark UM6P's second international campus following the successful establishment of their first overseas institution in Paris, further underscoring their commitment to global outreach and excellence in education.
