Morocco Affirms Commitment to Palestinian Support at Non-Aligned Movement Meeting
In a strong reaffirmation of its dedication to the Palestinian cause, Morocco's Minister of Foreign Affairs, Nasser Bourita, emphasized the nation's unwavering support during the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) ministerial meeting focused on the protection of civilians in armed conflicts. This commitment aligns with the vision of His Majesty King Mohammed VI and underscores Morocco's historical role in advocating for Palestinian rights.
Bourita articulated that Morocco remains steadfast in its support for the Palestinian people as they navigate numerous crises. He assured that the kingdom will continue to stand by Palestinians on various fronts, whether through international forums or by providing humanitarian and developmental assistance.
The minister highlighted the critical importance of civilian protection amidst armed conflicts, reiterating the necessity of adhering to international humanitarian law and human rights principles. He called upon the global community to fulfill its responsibilities in safeguarding Palestinian civilians, particularly given the ongoing tensions in the region.
Furthermore, Bourita affirmed Morocco's intent to collaborate with partners within NAM and other international organizations to pursue a just and comprehensive peace. This effort is grounded in international legal resolutions while upholding the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people.
Morocco's position reflects a blend of principled support for Palestine and a commitment to diplomatic engagement aimed at fostering peace in a region marked by conflict.
