Noura Ennadi Advances to 400m Hurdles Semifinals at 2024 Olympics
Moroccan track sensation Noura Ennadi has clinched a place in the semifinals of the women’s 400-meter hurdles at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, igniting hopes for a podium finish for Morocco.
Ennadi, 25, delivered an impressive performance, finishing second in her heat with a time of 55.26 seconds, trailing only the reigning Olympic champion and world record holder, American Sydney McLaughlin.
Born on April 5, 1999, Ennadi has swiftly risen to prominence in Moroccan athletics. Her career is adorned with significant achievements, including a gold medal in the 400m hurdles at the 2021 Islamic Solidarity Games in Konya, Turkiye, and a bronze at the 2022 African Championships in Mauritius. Additionally, she secured a silver medal at the 2023 African Games in Accra.
Ennadi’s prowess extends beyond the African continent. She has earned multiple accolades at the Mediterranean Games and the Francophone Games, notably securing gold in the 400m hurdles at the 2023 Francophone Games in Kinshasa. Her personal best in the 400m hurdles stands at an impressive 54.37 seconds, set in Madrid in 2023.
Versatility defines Ennadi’s athletic career, as she has also competed in the 100m hurdles and the 4x400m relay events. Consistently ranking among Morocco’s elite athletes, she showcased her talent at the 2023 World Athletics Championships, advancing to the semifinals.
The women’s 400m hurdles semifinals at the Paris 2024 Olympics are slated for Tuesday, August 6, at 7 p.m. local time. As the competition progresses, Moroccan fans eagerly anticipate Ennadi’s performance, hoping for the nation’s first Olympic medal at these Games.
