Holged Expands Preschool Education Footprint with Acquisition of Kenzi Nursery
The Moroccan preschool education sector is witnessing a new dynamic as Holding générale d'éducation SA (Holged) acquires Crèche jardin d'enfants Kenzi SARL. This transaction marks a significant milestone in Holged's expansion, further strengthening its investments in the private preschool education domain.
The Competition Council recently announced this economic concentration operation. According to the Council's communiqué, Holged is acquiring 100% of the share capital and voting rights of Crèche jardin d'enfants Kenzi. This exclusive takeover enables Holged to consolidate its educational offerings by integrating Kenzi's infrastructure and expertise.
Holged, a Moroccan public limited company, is renowned for its commitment to education at various levels, primarily in Morocco but also in countries such as Tunisia and Egypt. Crèche jardin d'enfants Kenzi, a Moroccan limited liability company, operates in the private preschool education sector.
This acquisition is part of Holged's ongoing diversification strategy. The group, founded by the Benyahya family, who also established one of Holged's flagship networks, the Al Yassamine schools, has made several significant acquisitions in the education sector in recent years. In 2017, Al Jabr International School joined the holding company. More recently, in 2023, the Al Massalik Privé group was acquired by Holged.
The latest acquisition of Crèche jardin d'enfants Kenzi SARL aligns with Holged's broader strategy to strengthen its educational portfolio.
The notifying parties of this transaction are responsible for the information provided to the Competition Council. The Council emphasizes that the publication of this communiqué does not attest to the completeness of the file, as stipulated in Article 9 of Decree No. 2-14-652 relating to Law No. 104-12 on freedom of prices and competition.
