Tanger-Tetouan-Al Hoceima Region: Around 82,000 Candidates for the 2024 Baccalaureate Exams

More than 81,900 candidates are taking the normal session of the national and regional unified baccalaureate examination for the June 2024 session in the Tanger-Tetouan-Al Hoceima region, as announced on Sunday by the Regional Academy of Education and Training (AREF).

According to a statement from the Academy, approximately 47,007 enrolled and free-candidate students took the normal session of the regional unified exam, which was held on June 5 and 6 across 177 exam centers out of the 216 centers established in the eight provincial directorates of National Education in the northern region.

The same source indicated that a total of 45,253 candidates will take the normal session of the national unified baccalaureate exam 2024, scheduled from June 10 to 13. The number of enrolled candidates stands at 34,916, of which 31,742 are registered in the public sector (70.14%), and 3,174 in the private sector (7.01%).

The Academy highlighted that female candidates represent 55.05% of all candidates, while the number of free-candidate students is 10,337 (22.84%). The number of candidates in scientific and technical fields is 28,721, while in the literary and traditional education fields, their number reaches 16,152. Additionally, there are 380 candidates in professional fields and 8,772 in the international section (French and English options) and the "sports-study" program.

The number of candidates with disabilities is 312 students, the statement added, specifying that all necessary measures have been taken to adapt the examination conditions and grading process for this category.

AREF affirmed that all necessary measures have been implemented to ensure favorable conditions for the smooth conduct of these exams. It noted that 23 individuals are mobilized for the printing and reproduction of exams, 5,560 are assigned to supervision, and 3,480 are responsible for grading.

Furthermore, six exam centers have been established in penitentiary institutions, where 52 candidates are taking the exams, in addition to the mobilization of 14 grading centers across the various provincial directorates.

The Academy extended its best wishes for success to all candidates, commending the efforts of the education and training community, local authorities, security and health services, and all stakeholders involved in ensuring the success of this national event.
