Strong Wind Gusts and Heatwaves in Several Provinces of Morocco

Strong wind gusts with chasse-poussières (70-90 km/h) are expected from Monday to Tuesday in several provinces of the Kingdom of Morocco, according to an announcement by the General Directorate of Meteorology (DGM).

This phenomenon will affect the provinces of Assa-Zag, Sidi Ifni, Tan-tan, Guelmim, and Es-Semara, on Monday from 06h to 23h, the DGM reported in an orange vigilance alert bulletin.

The provinces of Chichaoua, Essaouira, Figuig, and Errachidia will also be affected by this phenomenon from Monday at 14h to Tuesday at 18h, according to the same source. The alert bulletin states that a heatwave (35/39°C) is expected from Tuesday to Friday in the provinces of Taroudant, Guelmim, Assa-Zag, Es-Semara, and Tata.

Furthermore, the provinces of Inezgane-Ait Melloul, Agadir-Ida-Ou-Tanane, Chtouka-Ait Baha, Sidi Ifni, Tan-Tan, Laayoune, Tarfaya, Boujdour, Aousserd, and Oued Ed-Dahab will experience, from Wednesday to Friday, a heatwave with temperatures ranging from 36 to 40°C.

The mercury is expected to reach temperatures between 34 and 38°C, during the same period, in the provinces of Fquih Ben Salah, Azilal, Beni Mellal, Sidi Bennour, Settat, Al Haouz, Chichaoua, El Kelaa des Sraghna, Essaouira, Marrakech, Rehamna, Safi, and Youssoufia, the same source specified.
