Lalla Meryem Leads the Board of Directors of the Social Welfare Works of the Royal Armed Forces
In compliance with the royal directives of the King, Supreme Chief and Chief of the General Staff of the Royal Armed Forces, Princess Lalla Meryem, President of the Social Welfare Works of the Royal Armed Forces (FAR), chaired the Board of Directors of the FAR Social Welfare Works on Friday at the headquarters of the FAR General Staff.
Upon her arrival at the General Staff, the princess was welcomed by the Corps General, Inspector General of the FAR, Commander of the Southern Zone, and Deputy President of the Board of Directors of the FAR Social Welfare Works, before reviewing a detachment of the Headquarters Battalion of the FAR. Subsequently, she was greeted by the members of the Board of Directors of the FAR Social Welfare Works, as indicated in a statement from the FAR General Staff.
Attending this Council were the Minister Delegate to the Head of Government, in charge of National Defense Administration, the Corps General, Inspector General of the FAR and Commander of the Southern Zone, the Corps General, Commander of the Royal Gendarmerie, and the members of the Board of Directors of the FAR Social Welfare Works.
During the meeting, the Major Colonel, Head of the General Directorate of Social Services, reported on the balance sheet of the various services provided during the past year, benefiting the recipients of the FAR Social Welfare Works, particularly supporting peacekeeping operations, pilgrimage, and participation in the "Marhaba" operation to welcome Moroccans Residing Abroad (MRE).
This action plan also included medical-social services to support and accompany people with disabilities and parents of autistic children, as well as solidarity and relief measures taken to support the victims of the Al Haouz earthquake.
Finally, the Council examined the moral and financial report, as well as the action plan for the years 2024-2026, before approving the budget necessary for its implementation.
The regular conduct of the Board of Directors' proceedings, under the effective chairmanship of Lalla Meryem, illustrates the high care with which the King surrounds the members of the FAR and their families.
