In a move to strengthen economic ties with the United Kingdom, Moroccan authorities have issued an enthusiastic call to British investors and entrepreneurs. The goal? To highlight the potential of the Dakhla-Oued Eddahab region, which is emerging as a crucial commercial and logistical hub on the African continent.

During a conference in London at the "Innovation Zero" Clean Energy Forum, El Khattat Yanja, president of the Dakhla-Oued Eddahab Regional Council, rolled out the red carpet for British investors. In a compelling appeal, he highlighted the promising sectoral opportunities available to them, particularly in fishing, tourism, high-value manufacturing, and agriculture. This represents a significant step toward fostering stronger cooperation between Morocco and the United Kingdom.

Strategically located on the Atlantic coast, Dakhla-Oued Eddahab will soon benefit from a major new port that will serve as a key connection point linking Africa with the Americas and Europe. This royal initiative is designed to provide Sahel countries with easier access to the Atlantic Ocean, thereby reinforcing the pivotal role of this region.

Morocco's Ambassador to the United Kingdom, Hakim Hajoui, extolled the virtues of Dakhla-Oued Eddahab, pointing out that it is not only the largest region in the Kingdom, but also the most prosperous in terms of human development. This prosperity is underpinned by the country's stability and rapid development. With its strategic location on the Atlantic, this region is set to host one of Africa's largest ports, connecting Dakhla to the Americas, Europe, and the African continent, thereby benefiting from the numerous free trade agreements Morocco has signed.

This invitation to British investors aligns with Morocco's efforts to strengthen its cooperation with the United Kingdom and to promote the investment opportunities offered by the Dakhla-Oued Eddahab region. The sectors of fishing, tourism, high-value manufacturing, and agriculture represent significant growth and economic development prospects for British businesses interested in establishing a presence in this strategic region.

In summary, Dakhla-Oued Eddahab is emerging as a promising commercial and logistical hub for British investors, with its economic strengths, prime geographical location, and a clear commitment to enhancing cooperation with the United Kingdom. The investment opportunities in various key sectors, along with the upcoming launch of a major international port, are compelling reasons for British business leaders to explore this thriving region.
