Turkey urges dialogue to address Iran protests
Turkey has called for diplomatic dialogue to help resolve the ongoing crisis in Iran, where mass protests have reportedly resulted in thousands of deaths, according to human rights organizations.
Speaking in Istanbul, Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan emphasized that the situation should be addressed through peaceful negotiations. He expressed hope that the United States and Iran could engage directly or via mediators to find a solution.
“We fully support resolving issues through dialogue,” Fidan said. “Turkey is closely monitoring developments and hopes that constructive engagement can prevent further escalation.”
The comments come amid growing international concern over the Iranian government’s crackdown on protesters and the rising tensions between Tehran and Washington. Turkey, sharing a long border with Iran, has maintained a cautious stance, calling for stability and restraint from all parties involved.
