US authorities are raising concerns over the potential use of drones by far-right extremists in domestic attacks. Experts warn that both commercially available and home-built first-person view (FPV) drones could become key tools in an anticipated insurgency against the government.

Analysts report that extremist networks openly discuss the use of drones, citing examples from military conflicts and terrorist organizations worldwide. The FBI has identified accelerationist neo-Nazi groups as particularly interested in deploying drones for reconnaissance and offensive purposes.

Authorities cite recent incidents, including a foiled plot in Nashville where a neo-Nazi planned to bomb a power station using a drone. Veteran extremists with military training are seen as critical for passing technical knowledge to younger members.

While authorities continue monitoring threats, the widespread availability and low cost of drones remain a major concern, highlighting the challenges in preventing potential domestic attacks by ideologically motivated individuals
