Huawei prepares to launch the GT 7 Pro smartwatch

Huawei has unveiled the GT 7 Pro, a new premium smartwatch designed to combine a sophisticated build with advanced connectivity, health-monitoring features and fitness functions. The device is expected to enter international markets soon.

The watch features a titanium frame combined with protective glass and ceramic materials designed to improve resistance to everyday impacts and scratches. Measuring 45.6 by 45.6 by 11.3 millimeters and weighing approximately 55.5 grams, the smartwatch carries an IP69 rating for resistance to dust and water.

The GT 7 Pro is equipped with a 1.47-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 466 by 466 pixels and a pixel density of around 317 pixels per inch. Its peak brightness is reported to reach 3,000 nits, which could provide improved visibility in bright outdoor conditions.

The device is expected to run HarmonyOS 6.1 and offer 64GB of internal storage. Huawei has also integrated speakers, allowing users to receive audible notifications and listen to audio directly from the watch.

Health and fitness monitoring are among the device's main features. The smartwatch includes sensors designed to track heart rate, blood oxygen levels and body temperature, while additional functions are intended to help users monitor physical activity and sleep patterns.

The GT 7 Pro also supports Bluetooth 6.0 and satellite-based positioning systems. An NFC chip expands its connectivity options, while an electronic compass provides additional navigation functionality.

Powering the device is a lithium-ion battery with a reported capacity of 867mAh. The battery supports 10W wireless charging, giving users a cable-free charging option.

Huawei is expected to offer the smartwatch internationally in black and silver versions. Its reported price is around €380, placing it in the premium segment of the smartwatch market.

With its combination of a durable design, high-brightness AMOLED display, connectivity features and health and fitness tools, the GT 7 Pro is positioned as one of Huawei's higher-end wearable devices. Its reception will depend largely on pricing, battery performance and the practical usefulness of its monitoring features once it reaches global markets.
