ZONA brings immersive electronic music showcase back to Marrakech

ZONA returns to Marrakech on June 26, 2026 with The Moment, an immersive electronic music showcase designed to strengthen the city’s position on the global electronic scene through large-scale audiovisual production and international programming.

ZONA will return to Marrakech on June 26, 2026 with a new edition of its immersive event, The Moment. Building on the success of its inaugural gathering, the showcase aims to strengthen Marrakech’s position on the international electronic music circuit and reinforce the city’s growing role as a cultural and artistic meeting point.

The event will once again take place at Playa Leon by Château Hakim, near Chez Ali. Organizers selected the venue for its ability to host large-scale immersive productions that combine music, lighting and visual design. The concept centers on creating a fully transformed environment where artistic performance and sensory experience merge into a single event.

This year’s lineup focuses on melodic house and afro house, bringing together artists from several corners of the global electronic music scene. The programming has been designed to maintain a coherent musical identity while presenting diverse sounds and creative approaches that reflect current trends in electronic music.

Leading the bill is Danish collective WhoMadeWho, which will present The Moment, a hybrid live performance blending electronic music with immersive storytelling. Known for experimental stage productions, the group is expected to deliver one of the event’s most anticipated performances.

South African producer Shimza, a major figure in the global afro-tech movement, will also perform. His sets are recognized for combining powerful rhythms with technical precision and have earned him appearances on some of the world's largest electronic music stages. Fellow South African artist Desiree joins the lineup as well, bringing a distinctive afro house sound that has contributed to her rapid rise within the international electronic scene.

The event also gives space to regional and local talent. Moroccan artists Kenza Kayati and Staika are part of the program, contributing their own musical identities while strengthening the connection between international trends and local cultural expression. Organizers view this balance as a key element in building a sustainable electronic music ecosystem in Morocco.

According to ZONA’s artistic direction, the long-term objective is to establish Morocco as a meeting point for major international electronic music communities. Achieving that goal requires high production standards, carefully curated programming and immersive event formats capable of attracting both artists and audiences from abroad.

Marrakech has increasingly emerged as a hub for electronic music in North Africa and the wider MENA region. The city continues to attract international performers, collectives and music enthusiasts seeking new destinations for cultural and nightlife experiences.

The first edition of the event drew more than 4,500 attendees, with international visitors accounting for over 25 percent of participants. Demand has already proven significant, with the initial presale phase selling out and a new release of tickets now available in limited quantity.
