Police in Fes seize 691 kilograms of cannabis resin

Police in Fes arrested two suspects on Tuesday at dawn after intercepting a major drug shipment linked to a trafficking network operating across northern regions of the country. The operation was carried out following coordinated intelligence efforts aimed at tracking organized criminal activity connected to narcotics distribution.

Officers stopped a truck on the outskirts of Fes shortly after it entered the area from a locality in the north. A detailed search of the vehicle led to the discovery of 691 kilograms of cannabis resin hidden inside the cargo. The two individuals on board were immediately taken into custody.

Investigators placed the suspects in detention to expand inquiries into the broader network behind the shipment. Authorities are working to identify additional links in the distribution chain and determine whether the case connects to other active trafficking groups operating nationally.

Security services have intensified nationwide operations targeting drug trafficking networks. These efforts focus on dismantling supply routes and disrupting organized crime structures that continue to pose risks to public safety and law enforcement stability.
