Four suspects arrested in Sidi Bouknadel drug case, including police officer

Authorities in Salé have arrested four individuals, including a police officer and a municipal employee, in connection with the possession and trafficking of psychotropic drugs in Sidi Bouknadel. The investigation, launched under the supervision of the local prosecutor, is ongoing.

The operation was carried out jointly by Salé’s anti-gang unit and the General Directorate for Territorial Surveillance (DGST). A light vehicle, driven by the suspected officer, was intercepted after the occupants attempted to flee. Searches led to the seizure of 1,320 psychotropic tablets. The other detainees include a municipal employee and two individuals with prior criminal records.

Investigators are continuing to assess the involvement of each suspect and trace the supply and distribution channels of the illicit substances. The case has raised concerns about the misuse of public office in drug trafficking networks.
