Morocco and Spain dismantle ISIS-linked terror cell
Moroccan and Spanish security services have jointly dismantled a terrorist cell linked to ISIS, operating between the two countries, authorities said Wednesday.
The operation involved three extremist members, with two arrested in Tangier by Morocco’s DGST special forces and the cell’s leader detained in Mallorca by Spanish police. Early investigations indicate the Moroccan suspects were involved in financing and logistical support for ISIS fighters in the Sahel and Somalia, while the leader allegedly planned an attack in Spain.
This operation highlights ongoing strategic cooperation between Moroccan and Spanish security agencies, which has led to the dismantling of over 30 terrorist cells since 2014.
