Modi to visit Israel and address Knesset, Netanyahu says

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced that Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to visit Israel on Wednesday and deliver a speech before the Knesset. The planned visit, according to Israeli officials, aims to reinforce strategic cooperation between the two countries.

Speaking during a cabinet meeting, Netanyahu outlined his broader regional vision, describing efforts to build a network of partnerships across the Middle East and beyond. He referred to the concept as a framework of aligned nations, including India, Greece and other regional and international actors, seeking to counterbalance what he described as radical forces in the region.

The Israeli leader said that Modi’s visit would focus on expanding collaboration in economic, political and security spheres. Areas of particular interest include advanced technology sectors such as artificial intelligence, quantum computing and innovation-driven industries.

India and Israel have significantly strengthened ties over the past decade, with cooperation spanning defense, cybersecurity, agriculture and high-tech development. Modi previously traveled to Israel in 2017, marking a historic first visit by an Indian prime minister, while Netanyahu visited New Delhi the following year.

As of now, Indian authorities have not publicly confirmed the upcoming trip. If it proceeds, the visit would signal continued momentum in bilateral relations at a time of shifting geopolitical dynamics in the Middle East.
