Authorities in Guelmim have arrested four young men suspected of carrying out a violent robbery targeting a public security officer, according to official sources.

The suspects, aged between 18 and 21, were apprehended over the course of two days following an incident that occurred early Sunday morning. Preliminary findings indicate that the group allegedly intercepted the officer, physically assaulted him, and stole his personal belongings using a bladed weapon.

The attack was captured on video and quickly circulated across social media platforms, sparking public concern and prompting a swift response from law enforcement authorities.

Arrests carried out in two phases

Police investigations and field operations led to the identification of the individuals involved. Two suspects were arrested on Sunday, shortly after the incident, while the remaining two were taken into custody on Monday as part of ongoing security operations.
