Morocco Clinches Regional Postal Development Award for Second Consecutive Year
The Kingdom of Morocco has once again distinguished itself in the realm of postal services, securing the title of "postal development champion" in the Arab world for the second year running. This recognition comes from the Universal Postal Union's (UPU) Integrated Index for Postal Development (2IPD) for 2024.
The prestigious award was officially presented on October 9, 2024, in Berne, Switzerland, to His Excellency Mr. Lahcen Azoulay, Ambassador of His Majesty the King to the Swiss Confederation and the Principality of Liechtenstein. The ceremony coincided with the celebration of World Post Day, which this year marks the 150th anniversary of the UPU.
The UPU's Integrated Index for Postal Development (2IPD) evaluates countries based on specific criteria, taking into account the capacity, maturity, and development of postal services across 174 nations worldwide. Morocco's repeated success in this index underscores its commitment to advancing its postal infrastructure and services.
