A chaotic scene unfolded in Marrakech on August 15 when a 38-year-old Frenchman of Moroccan descent was arrested after driving under the influence and hitting multiple pedestrians. The incident was captured in a viral video, sparking widespread outrage.
According to the General Directorate of National Security (DGSN), the suspect's reckless actions resulted in a hit-and-run accident that left several individuals injured. Witnesses reported that the man, driving an Audi with foreign plates, appeared hysterical as he plowed into motorcyclists and pedestrians around 10 p.m.
The suspect attempted to flee but was apprehended after a dramatic chase. Authorities confirmed he was heavily intoxicated at the time of his arrest. The incident caused injuries of varying severity to three motorcyclists and two pedestrians.
