Driver strikes six pedestrians after failed turn in the Bronx

Police are searching for a man who struck six pedestrians while attempting a left turn at an intersection in the Bronx earlier this month. The incident occurred on July 3 at approximately 10:50 a.m. at the intersection of East 149th Street and Courtlandt Avenue in the Mott Haven neighborhood.

Collision details

The driver, operating a 2017 Ford Mustang, tried to make a left turn onto Courtlandt Avenue heading north but lost control of the vehicle, veering onto the sidewalk and hitting six individuals. The victims included a 30-year-old man, a 30-year-old woman, a 43-year-old man, a 49-year-old woman, a 69-year-old man, and a 79-year-old woman.

Emergency Medical Services (EMS) transported all six victims to Lincoln Hospital. Authorities confirmed that the injuries were minor and the individuals were in stable condition.

Suspect description

The driver abandoned the car at the scene and fled on foot. He is described as having tattoos on both arms, dark facial hair, and was last seen wearing a black do-rag, a white T-shirt, green sweatpants, and yellow sneakers.

The NYPD has urged anyone with information about the suspect’s identity or whereabouts to contact Crime Stoppers at (800) 577-TIPS. All tips will remain confidential as authorities continue their investigation.
