Urban Transport: Around 1,000 new buses to be delivered

Approximately 1,000 new buses will be delivered between the end of October and early November as part of the first phase of the National Urban Public Transport by Bus Program (2025–2029), according to Younes El Kasmi, Governor and Director of Urban Mobility and Transport at the General Directorate of Territorial Collectivities within the Ministry of the Interior.

This phase, which plans a total of 1,487 buses, will notably cover Tangier, Fez, Rabat, Marrakech, Agadir, and their surrounding urban areas — 29 cities in total.

It also includes the implementation of modern ticketing systems, operational assistance solutions, and the construction of maintenance centers.

With a total budget of nearly 11 billion dirhams, the program aims to modernize urban transport through three phases, covering 84 cities and involving the acquisition of 3,800 buses.

The operation of these vehicles will be entrusted to specialized operators, following a delegated management modelfocused on quality, performance, and innovation.
