Britain’s competition regulator has opened an investigation into whether Microsoft misled personal and family customers through changes to its Microsoft 365 subscription plans following the integration of its artificial intelligence assistant, Copilot.

The inquiry, announced by the Competition and Markets Authority (CMA), will assess whether the company’s marketing and pricing practices resulted in consumers paying more than they expected when renewing their subscriptions.
