UK and Morocco strengthen scientific collaboration for climate resilience
The United Kingdom and Morocco have officially formalized their scientific and technical cooperation through a newly signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the UK Met Office and Morocco's General Directorate of Meteorology (DGM). This partnership reflects a shared commitment to a balanced and equal technical collaboration that prioritizes mutual benefits.
By working together, both countries aim to enhance climate resilience and improve disaster risk management capabilities. A key focus of this alliance is to develop advanced early warning systems that can better protect vulnerable communities from natural hazards.
This cooperative effort also aligns with global initiatives, notably supporting the United Nations’ "Early Warning for All" campaign, which strives to ensure timely and effective alerts worldwide. The agreement represents a significant step forward in international collaboration to address the challenges posed by climate change and extreme weather events.
