Toyota recalls over 144,000 vehicles in the U.S. over rearview camera issue

Japanese automaker Toyota Motor Corporation has announced the recall of more than 144,000 vehicles in the United States due to a technical issue affecting rearview camera displays. The problem may prevent the image from appearing when the vehicle is in reverse, potentially increasing the risk of accidents.

According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the recall involves several models from the Lexus lineup, including recent versions of the NX, RX, and TX series produced between 2022 and 2026.

The safety authority indicated that authorized dealers will address the issue by updating the system software or replacing the camera when necessary. All repairs related to the recall will be carried out at no cost to vehicle owners.

Toyota stated that such measures are part of its ongoing commitment to safety and quality, encouraging affected customers to contact dealerships to arrange inspections and repairs.
