Tangier ranked among top 10 tourist destinations for 2025
The prominent German magazine "Brisant," associated with the public broadcasting network Das Erste, has identified Tangier as one of the ten must-visit tourist destinations for 2025. This accolade is particularly aimed at German travelers seeking experiences beyond their borders.
Situated at the crossroads of Africa and Europe, Tangier joins a list of idyllic locations worldwide, including the Greek Islands, Mokra Gora (Serbia), Jyväskylä (Finland), East Sussex (England), Tarn (France), Albania, Guadalajara (Mexico), the Faroe Islands, and Arequipa (Peru).
In a travel feature published on Friday, Brisant.de recommends Tangier for those German tourists eager to explore less conventional spots, steering clear of traditional favorites like Mallorca, Italy, or Croatia. The magazine highlights the city’s unique charm, attributed to its exceptional geographical position between the Atlantic and the Mediterranean.
Key attractions in this emblematic city of northern Morocco include the Kasbah Museum and the historic medina. The article also notes that diving enthusiasts can enjoy an extraordinary underwater spectacle, characterized by an array of seaweed, rocks, and schools of fish.
Additionally, the German publication encourages visits to the famed Hercules Caves, offering a captivating blend of legend and natural heritage.
As the fourth-largest source market for Moroccan tourism, Germany has seen a substantial increase in its visitors to Morocco, indicating promising growth potential. In 2024, Morocco welcomed 826,282 German tourists, reflecting a significant 22% rise compared to 2023.
