Simple Launches Instant Bank Card Account Funding in Morocco
Simple, the digital banking brand of Attijariwafa bank, is introducing a new account-funding service designed to make the first steps of banking in Morocco faster and more autonomous.
The new feature allows customers to add money to their newly opened Simple account immediately using a bank card. According to the company, the service represents a first in the Moroccan market, as it accepts both national and international cards, regardless of the issuing bank.
The initiative addresses one of the most common constraints associated with opening and activating a bank account: waiting for a conventional transfer to arrive or visiting a branch to complete an initial deposit.
A fully digital funding process
The operation is integrated directly into the Simple application. After choosing the amount to deposit, customers enter their card details and confirm the transaction through the secure payment process.
Once completed, the funds become available on the account immediately. This allows users to start using their banking services without waiting for a traditional transfer to be processed.
The account can then be used for everyday operations, including payments, money transfers, bill payments and online purchases.
From account activation to digital services
The immediate availability of funds also gives new customers direct access to Simple’s wider digital ecosystem.
Through Simple Trip, users can organize and book travel services, while Simple Deals provides access to promotional offers and discounts through the brand’s network of partners.
The banking experience also extends to mobile payments. Simple Pay enables customers to pay or transfer money by scanning a QR code, adding another digital option for everyday transactions.
Virtual cards add another layer of flexibility
Simple is also positioning its virtual-card service as part of its digital banking offering. The Simple Virtual Card allows users to create up to 20 virtual cards for different uses, including five free cards.
The service also includes a temporary single-use card designed for online transactions. Customers can use virtual cards for online purchases or contactless payments through their smartphones, providing an additional layer of flexibility and security.
A shift toward immediate banking access
By combining instant account funding with a mobile-first banking experience, Simple is seeking to reduce the time between opening an account and actually using it.
The new functionality places immediate access to funds at the center of the customer journey, while bringing account management, payments, transfers, travel services, discounts and virtual cards together within the same digital environment.
For Morocco’s increasingly digital financial-services market, the move illustrates how neobanks are seeking to simplify traditionally time-consuming banking procedures and make account activation more immediate.
