Saudi Arabia condemns Iranian strikes on Gulf states
Saudi Arabia has denounced what it described as brutal Iranian aggression following recent missile and drone attacks targeting several Gulf and regional countries. In a statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said the strikes against the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Qatar, Kuwait and Jordan constituted a serious violation of national sovereignty and a breach of international law and the United Nations Charter.
The ministry said the attacks undermined regional security and stability. It characterized them as grave acts that threaten the safety of civilian populations and critical infrastructure across the Gulf.
Riyadh expressed full solidarity with the states it called sisterly nations, affirming that it stands firmly by their side. The Kingdom said it is prepared to provide all available support to assist them in any measures they choose to take to safeguard their security and territorial integrity.
The statement warned that continued violations of state sovereignty could lead to dangerous consequences. It said further escalation risks expanding the conflict and creating wider instability with serious implications for global peace and the international economy.
Saudi Arabia urged the international community to condemn the Iranian attacks and to take firm and effective action in response to what it described as repeated violations that endanger Gulf societies and threaten stability in the Middle East.
The ministry reiterated Riyadh’s longstanding position that disputes in the region should be resolved through dialogue and diplomacy. It stressed that the use of force and attacks on civilian areas and key infrastructure only deepen tensions and increase the risk of broader confrontation.
