Royal Road reports strong copper drill results at Lalla Aziza site
Royal Road Minerals has reported encouraging drilling results from its Lalla Aziza copper project in Morocco’s Western High Atlas, confirming the presence of significant copper mineralization across the site. The company completed a 15 hole reverse circulation drilling program covering 1,000 meters, identifying consistent copper grades within the Seksaoua shear zone, an المنطقة known for historic copper and gold extraction.
The Lalla Aziza underground mine, located حوالي 90 kilometers southwest of Marrakesh, is currently operated by Carbomine. Royal Road secured an option agreement in December 2024 to acquire full ownership of the mining license. The latest drilling campaign targeted early stage exploration zones and aimed to confirm the continuity and quality of copper mineralization within the broader geological structure.
Drilling results indicate potentially viable copper concentrations across multiple sections. The company reported 17 meters at 1.3 percent copper in one drill hole, 19 meters at 1.1 percent in another, and 31 meters at 0.7 percent in a third. Additional intersections returned grades ranging between 0.7 percent and 1.1 percent. These results point to strong mineral continuity across the structure, although the true thickness of the deposits has yet to be determined through further analysis.
Royal Road stated that mineralization extends across the width of the Seksaoua structure and remains open both along strike and at depth, suggesting further exploration potential. However, progress on transferring the mining license has been delayed due to corporate issues affecting the current license holder. The company said these matters are being addressed through formal channels.
At the same time, Royal Road has moved to strengthen its position in the region by signing a confidentiality agreement that grants it exclusivity over a neighboring mining title within the same geological corridor. It has also appointed SCP Resource Finance to assess financing and strategic options, including the possible consolidation of multiple licenses into a single project.
The company said it will evaluate next steps based on these developments, including advancing the project in a cost efficient manner or pursuing transactions aimed at maximizing asset value. Royal Road continues to focus on copper and gold exploration across Morocco, Saudi Arabia, and Colombia, positioning the Lalla Aziza project as a key component of its regional strategy.
