PSG's Stellar Lineup: Seven Nominations for Ballon d'Or 2024 Showcase Club's Prowess

Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) has made a significant impact on the football world, securing an impressive seven nominations for the prestigious Ballon d'Or 2024 ceremony. This remarkable achievement spans both men's and women's categories, highlighting the club's comprehensive strength across the board.

In a groundbreaking development, PSG's women's team has earned its first-ever nomination for the Women's Club of the Year award. This recognition underscores the team's exceptional performance in the 2023-2024 season, during which they reached the semi-finals of the Champions League and clinched the Coupe de France title.

On the individual front, Portuguese midfielder Vitinha has received his inaugural nomination for the Men's Ballon d'Or. His outstanding contributions to PSG's success, including nine goals and five assists in 46 appearances, have not gone unnoticed.

The goalkeeping department sees Italian star Gianluigi Donnarumma once again in contention for the Yashin Trophy. Having previously secured this accolade in 2021, Donnarumma's consistent excellence between the posts has played a crucial role in PSG's domestic treble.

Young talents are also in the spotlight, with Warren Zaïre-Emery and João Neves both nominated for the Kopa Trophy, recognizing the best under-21 player of the season. Zaïre-Emery, at just 18 years old, has emerged as a key player for PSG, while Neves has made an immediate impact since his recent move from Benfica.

The women's side boasts two formidable contenders for the Women's Ballon d'Or. Captain Grace Geyoro, PSG's most capped player, has been instrumental in the team's success. Striker Marie-Antoinette Katoto, the club's all-time top scorer, has made a triumphant return from injury, demonstrating her prowess with 20 goals in 35 matches and finishing as the top scorer in the 2024 Olympic Games.

PSG President Nasser Al-Khelaïfi expressed his pride in the nominees, stating, "These nominations not only recognize our players' great talent and sporting achievements but are also a testament to the highest standards of excellence upheld across all our teams."

The Ballon d'Or ceremony, scheduled for October 28 at the Théâtre du Châtelet in Paris, promises to be a momentous occasion for PSG. As the club continues to make waves in both men's and women's football, these nominations serve as a testament to their commitment to excellence and their growing influence on the global football stage.
