One dead after Ukrainian drone strike in annexed Crimea

At least one person has been killed following a Ukrainian drone attack targeting the port city of Sevastopol, located in the Crimea region.

Local authorities reported that dozens of drones were launched overnight, with air defense systems intercepting a significant number of them. Despite these efforts, debris from intercepted drones reportedly caused casualties and damage to civilian areas.

According to officials appointed by Russia, one man was killed while inside a vehicle, and three others were injured and taken to hospital. Several buildings, including residential homes and a dance school, were also damaged in different parts of the city.

The attack highlights the ongoing escalation between Ukraine and Russia, as both sides continue to exchange strikes. Kyiv has increasingly relied on drone operations to target strategic locations, particularly infrastructure linked to military and energy sectors.

These developments come amid a broader cycle of retaliation. Ukrainian officials recently reported casualties in the city of Dnipro following prolonged Russian strikes lasting several hours.

The situation remains volatile, with both sides intensifying aerial operations as the conflict continues with no immediate resolution in sight.
